Many people I meet and speak to worry about running out of time.
I’m sure you can relate to this.
You’re too busy to tick off all the things on your to do list, honour commitments friends and acquaintances, let alone sleep enough.
Missing important moments, making mistakes that could have been avoided, being mentally switched off and not listening when talking to a loved one.
The list goes on.
When you say, ‘I don’t have time for myself,’ or, ‘I don’t have time to sleep enough’, I feel concerned for three reasons:
You’re guaranteed to be heading towards burnout.
You see time in a negative way. It has a negative impact on your life.
I can relate to your anxiety. I know how limited days can seem when you’re rushing to complete tasks.
Your life is governed by time frames: seconds, minutes, hours, days. It all ticks by so ‘quickly’ you hardly have time to take stock.
Time seems more precious, the longer we live, do you agree? I certainly appreciate and value my it much more now than when I was younger.
We are used to measuring hours, days and weeks designing our lives around it. And this is also why it is an opportunity.
Functioning on almost empty because of tiredness is detrimental to our health every hour, every day, every week.
How can you turn this constant daily pressure into an opportunity?
I encourage you to change your attitude towards time.
Let your feelings of being hard-pressed trigger a new rhythm.
2. Reconsider your priorities
Prioritise the things that matter to you the most and have the biggest impact on your life. Even when it comes to your list of task on a daily basis.
I am sure you can find a better way when it comes to managing your precious time; focusing your energy on a project or task at work that will make a bigger impact.
2. Refocus your day and make positive choices
Tiredness creates a strain on your body and mind. It affects how alert you are, how you cope with tasks, how well you manage the precious time that you have.
By refocusing your day to include positive choices, you will feel more satisfied with your life.
3. Establish better life and sleep habits
Fit enough rest into your every day, and you will find yourself fresher, more alive and better able to maximise those moments that mean the most to you.
If you sleep well, you will be more productive during waking hours.
How will you create a healthier routine and make the most of your busy life?
